Dr Sandy Africa
The Vice Chair of the ASSN Executive Committee (ExCo) and Associate Professor in Political Science at the University of Pretoria, Dr Sandy Africa has been appointed Assistant Director and Head of Division: Africa/Gender and Security at the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF), after applying for the position.
Dr Africa will assume her new position in January, 2017 and will continue to serve on the ASSN ExCo. The two sub-divisions to her portfolio are: i) The Africa Programme and ii) The Gender and Security Programme which cuts across all the regions DCAF works in.
