ASSN Member and Lecturer at the Department of History and International Studies, University of Jos, Nigeria, Dr Jimam Timchang Lar, has recently been named among the 2016 grantees of the African Peacebuilding Network (APN) of the Social Science Research Council (SSRC).  His research will focus on Plurality, Local Authority, and Conflict Resolution: Prospects and Challenges from Central Nigerian Conflict Theaters, 2000–2015.

This year’s APN grantees come from 14 countries: Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, Uganda, South Sudan, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, and Togo, all representing the most brilliant minds of Africa.

Their research topics demonstrate a variety of challenges the African continent faces today in peacebuilding and security.
