Report of the ECOWAS Security Sector Reform and Governance (SSRG) Training Workshop – Nigeria
The ECOWAS Security Sector Reform and Governance (SSRG) Training Workshops, are part of the ECOWAS Peace and Security Architecture and Operations (EPSAO) Project implemented by the ECOWAS Regional Security Division (RSD), in collaboration with the African Security Sector Network (ASSN), funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), under the GIZ EPSAO Project.
Following the extension of the project to three additional countries (Liberia, Nigeria and Niger), the ECOWAS SSRG workshop for Nigeria was held in Abuja from the 19th to 22nd of September, 2022, bringing together security agencies, civil society organizations, civilian stakeholders, ministries and departments in the country.
he main objective of the 4-day training workshop in member states, was to facilitate dissemination and promote awareness of the ECOWAS Policy Framework for SSRG, as mandated by the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS.

Rapport de l’atelier de formation de la CEDEAO sur la réforme et la gouvernance du secteur de la sécurité (RGSS) – Nigeria
Les ateliers de formation sur la réforme et la gouvernance du secteur de la sécurité (RGSS), font partie du projet EPSAO (Peace and Security Architecture and Operations) de la CEDEAO mis en œuvre par la Division régionale de la sécurité (DRS) de la CEDEAO, en collaboration avec le Réseau africain pour le secteur de sécurité (ASSN), financé par l’Union européenne et le ministère fédéral allemand de la Coopération économique et du Développement (BMZ), dans le cadre du projet EPSAO de la GIZ.
Suite à l’extension du projet à trois pays supplémentaires (Liberia, Nigeria et Niger), l’atelier sur la RGSS de la CEDEAO pour le Nigeria s’est tenu à Abuja du 19 au 22 septembre 2022, réunissant des agences de sécurité, des organisations de la société civile, des ministères et des départements du pays.
L’objectif principal de cet atelier de formation de quatre jours dans les États membres était de faciliter la diffusion et de promouvoir la sensibilisation au Cadre politique de la CEDEAO pour le RGSS, conformément au mandat de l’Autorité des chefs d’État et de gouvernement de la CEDEAO.
