{"id":741,"date":"2022-07-20T09:50:19","date_gmt":"2022-07-20T06:50:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.africansecuritynetwork.org\/wp_plug\/?page_id=741"},"modified":"2022-07-20T09:50:19","modified_gmt":"2022-07-20T06:50:19","slug":"south-south-and-north-south-partnerships","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.africansecuritynetwork.org\/wp_plug\/south-south-and-north-south-partnerships\/","title":{"rendered":"South-South and North-South Partnerships"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\t<p>The ASSN was a founding member of the erstwhile Global Consortium on Security Transformation (GCST), formerly based at FLACSO-Chile and including the Arab Reform Initiative (ARI), the Institute for Strategic and Development Studies (ISDS) in the Philippines, the International Centre for Ethnic Studies (ICES) in Sri Lanka, the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) in the UK, and the Instituto de Ense\u00f1anza para el Desarollo Sostenible (IEPADES) in Guatemala.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to South-South linkages, the ASSN has also developed robust formal and informal South-North networking (at both institutional and personal levels) as well as engagement with external partners. Northern partners include the Conflict, Security and Development Group (King&#8217;s College London), DCAF and the International Security Sector Advisory Team (ISSAT), OIF, and the (former) Global Facilitation Network for Security Sector Reform (GFN-SSR). ASSN members have also been extensively involved (both formally and informally) in the work of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development&#8217;s Development Assistance Committee\/OECD\/DAC (the SSR Guidelines and Handbook respectively).
